Red Fern Cellars Merlot 2004
I have to admit we were all skeptical when we first opened this bottle of wine; after all, we'd never heard of wineries on Long Island, much less had one to drink; and I prefer Cabernet Sauvignon over Merlot in any case.
I was very pleasantly surprised to find a wine that was quite fruity, very well balanced, and very enjoyable — a taste with more to recommend it than any Merlot I can recall.
I look forward to trying other wines from this vineyard.
