This wine makes a nice change from the typical reds. Chianti wines are a complex blend of grapes, and the wine bottle doesn't reveal exactly what grapes went into this vintage.
No matter — the wine was excellent. It had a very nice distinct flavor of grapes, with no harshness. The deeper berry flavors of the Cabernets was not present; I would judge this medium-body wine. The sediment in the bottle is a nice touch that reminds us that real grapes went into making this wine.
