I grabbed this bottle out of a bin at my local wine shop; for $5 per bottle, I thought I'd taste it. How bad could it be?
The answer: pretty awful. The wine was thin and sour, without any redeeming features.
This experience is a cautionary tale on the importance of reading labels. Although I didn't notice at the time, the wine was non-vintage, which frankly would not have bothered me -- after all, a good table wine can be non-vintage. But the label also gives that the alcohol level as "9-12%," which strikes me as quite careless, and might just have warned me off.
I've had wines from Moldova before, and I will again, but not this one.
