The Kosher Wine Review

Covenant

Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Rating: 4

I sent a bottle of this wine to some non-Jewish oenophiles of my acquaintance and they loved it.

Perhaps my palate is not up to the task, but while I noticed a nice overtone of berries in the wine, I didn't discover the rich complexities I'd been expecting. Overall it's a very nice wine, but I don't think it's worth the cost, which is nearly three times the cost of any other California wine.

On the other hand, I may simply need more time with another bottle, with a different vintage, or a bottle with more age — which is, however, exactly what I told myself the last time I tried Convenant.
