From the Pomerol region, which grows some of the finest Merlot grapes.
The nose is full of fruit and pleasant aromas which develop as the wine breaths; there's a small hint of sharp notes lurking in the background. The mouth is much softer and very mature, without any harshness.
The 1997 vintage is certainly ready to drink today
(Pomerol wines are ready to drink earlier than other Bordeaux).
