Made in the bottle by the traditional champagne method, this sparkling wine -- only wines from the Champagne region may be called Champagnes -- has a very lively initial mouth. You must sip this wine carefully if you're used to the light carbonation of lesser wines.
Once past the initial liveliness, I found the body of the wine to be light and quite dry. The taste was very crisp and straightforward, and the dryness was a welcome relief from the sweetness of less expensive wines.
Like all decent champagnes, the wine went well with informal food and good friendship. If you enjoy the wine, it's actually a nice bargin, and it's certainly worth a try.
