Abarbanel does an excellent job on their Beaujolais, so much so that their Beaujolais Noveau is occassionaly rated among the best in the US. This Beaujolais is estate-bottled, usually a mark of higher quality in these wines, a guarantee that the grapes have some traceability and accounting.
Abarbanel's Beaujolais is a fun wine to drink. Its intense fruitiness makes it palatable to people who prefer sweeter wines. This is the wine I usually bring with me when I don't know about the tastes of the person with whom I will share the wine; and I try to keep at least one of these on my wine rack.
